Listing Guidelines

Locatr is a family-friendly directory of local businesses. Every new listing is checked before it goes live, and we only approve listings that our visitors can trust and that we're proud to show.
What we won't list
We will not approve, and will remove, listings that promote or offer:
- Adult and sex-industry businesses. Sex toys and adult shops, escort and companion services, strip clubs, erotic or “sensual” massage, pornography, webcam or adult-content services.
- Illegal goods and services. Drugs and other controlled substances (including selling cannabis outside the law), stolen or counterfeit goods, unlicensed firearms or ammunition, and anything else that breaks South African law.
- Scams and harmful money schemes. Pyramid and get-rich-quick schemes, unregistered money lenders and loan sharks, unlicensed gambling, and “investments” that promise guaranteed returns.
- Hate, violence and discrimination. Businesses or content that promote hatred, violence or discrimination against people or groups.
- Fake or misleading listings. Businesses that don't exist, listings that copy or impersonate another business, false claims, and keyword stuffing.
We may also decline or remove any other listing, review or content that we believe could harm our visitors, other businesses or Locatr's reputation. This applies to free and Premium listings alike, and a Premium payment does not guarantee approval.
What every listing needs
- A real business that you own or are authorised to represent.
- Accurate details: name, address, contact numbers and opening hours.
- Photos and descriptions of your own business, which you have the right to use.
If your listing is declined or removed
We'll email you to let you know. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that email or contact us at admin@locatr.co.za. If a declined listing was paid for, we'll refund the payment.
