Locatr (“we”, “us”) runs a directory of local businesses in Mossel Bay. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how you can control it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Information we collect

• Account details you provide when registering: username, email address, first and last name, and optional phone number.
• Content you submit: listings, reviews, photos, messages, claim requests and contact-form messages.
• Basic technical data needed to run the site, such as session cookies and IP addresses used for spam and abuse prevention.
• Your approximate location, only when you tap “Near me” (or “Use my location” when adding a listing). It is used for that search and not stored.

How we use it

• To operate your account, show your listings and reviews, and deliver messages between users and business owners.
• To process listing payments. Card payments are handled by PayFast; we never see or store card details.
• To respond to your enquiries and send essential service emails such as password resets.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run Locatr (hosting, email delivery, payments, AI search) and when required by law.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing admin@locatr.co.za.
