Set between the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, Mossel Bay is one of the most scenic half-distance courses in South Africa. Athletes race past fynbos-covered hills, farmland and a coastline where dolphins and whales are often spot The Course 🏊 Swim – 1.9km The swim starts in the bay opposite the Santos Beach Pavilion and finishes at De Bakke Beach. Water in the bay averages around 21°C. running 🚴 Bike – 90km A single loop takes riders out along George Road and Louis Fourie Road towards Albertinia, then onto the N2 and the R327 into the Gouritz River valley. Riders turn around about 6km before Herbertsdale and head back to Mossel Bay through rolling countryside. 🏃 Run – 21.1km Two and a half loops through the town pass the harbour, historic central Mossel Bay, the Dias Museum Complex and the Point. The race ends beneath the Cape St Blaize Lighthouse, one of the most memorable finish lines on the circuit. Why race Mossel Bay?
