The rhythm of the Garden Route
MosJazz isn't just a festival. It's part of Mossel Bay's cultural heartbeat. Every year, locals and visitors gather by the sea as jazz drifts out over the bay. It's as much about connection as music: friends reunite, families settle in, and strangers become friends over a shared favourite song.

Throwback: what makes MosJazz special
The music. Over the years the stage has hosted established names and rising South African talent, the kind of performances people still talk about years later.
The people. The real magic is how MosJazz brings people together. Families, visitors and lifelong jazz lovers arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
The setting. Few festivals anywhere have a backdrop like this. As one festivalgoer put it: "At MosJazz, even the ocean seems to keep time with the beat."

Planning your festival weekend
Late November is busy in Mossel Bay. IRONMAN 70.3 Mossel Bay takes over the town on Sunday 22 November, the weekend before. A little planning goes a long way:
Book accommodation early. Guesthouses near The Point and Santos fill up fast.
Get your tickets in advance through the official ticket seller.
Plan your parking or get a lift. Walking or sharing a ride saves stress near the venue.
Book dinner. See our top 10 restaurants and coffee shops, many within easy reach of Santos.
Make a long weekend of it. Walk the St Blaize Trail, visit the Dias Museum or take a boat trip to Seal Island.
Local businesses: get ready for the crowds
Festival weekends bring thousands of visitors looking for places to eat, stay and shop. Make sure they can find you: add your business to Locatr or claim your listing, and check that your hours and contact details are up to date.
